The smoke detector obligation will come into effect on July 1, 2022 and homes (built before 2003) must be equipped with smoke detectors. This measure should improve fire safety in the Netherlands. From this date, you are obliged to install at least one optical smoke detector on every floor (with residential function) of your home. Because smoke detectors save lives!
