What are Paumelles?

Paumelles are hinges consisting of 2 unequal plates attached with a single pin. The operation of hinges is virtually the same as a ball bearing hinge , however, a hinge does not contain bearings but a nylon ring. These nylon rings are very durable and can be easily replaced

What types of hinges are there?

There are several types of hinges. There are ball pin hinges and regular pin hinges. There are also native hinges. These are available in different versions for, for example, rebated doors or steel doors. More information about drilled hinges can be found here .

Advantages of hinges

Paumelles are very easy to assemble. In addition, you can easily lift a door that is mounted with hinges out of the rebate. This is always useful if the door still needs to be painted. Milling out the frame is also easy with our milling jig sets .

When do you choose a hinge?

Choose a regular hinge for your standard door. These are easy to assemble and strong enough for any interior door (provided three are installed).

Drilled hinges can only be used with rebated doors or steel doors.

View our pin and ball pin hinges here. The hinges are supplied with screws and are available in left- and right-handed versions.
