A good AXA doordranger ensures extra comfort, cost savings and that your door will last longer. With a Dranger your doors are opened and closed in a controlled manner, this prevents damage to your door and the wall. In our store you will find a large assortment of Axa Deurdranger, including Axa Deurdranger with a scissor arm and a sliding arm.

What is an AXA doordranger?

You undoubtedly know them, Axa Deurdranger. But why is it that these are used so much? Axa Deurdranger actually only has a function. That is to close the door. With this they ensure that both your door and the wall will not be damaged and will therefore last longer.

How the AXA Deurdranger is mounted depends on the situation in your home. This way the door closer can be mounted on the frame or on the door. There is a spring and a ash in the mechanism. This is attached to the door or frame. The Dranger is located as a whole with a steel housing. In this way the Dranger ensures that the door closes in a controlled and calm way.

Choose between a scissor arm or a sliding arm

We have two types of door closers in our range. These two are by far the most common. These are the closers with a sliding arm and with a scissor arm.

A scissor arm works with what is also called a rack, which is a gear on a rectangular bar with teeth. If you open a door with a scissor arm, the door hardly loses any force and the resistance usually remains the same.

A sliding arm works in a different way, here the closer revolves around a spindle in the shape of a heart. This creates a kind of decreasing torque, the door is then still easy to operate within an angle of approximately 30 degrees. A sliding arm usually offers the most beautiful appearance once the door is closed, because the arm to which the door is attached slides into the housing.

With a scissors, the arm clearly stands outside when the door is closed, this is clearly visible. Because a sliding arm is a somewhat more advanced system, this AXA Deurdranger is usually more expensive.

Optimal closing force

If you are going to purchase an AXA doordranger, you naturally want your door (s) to close in a calm way, but which closing force is optimal for your doors? The closing force with which a door closes depends on several factors. This is how this is determined by the spring pressure and the door width. Other factors that influence the closing power are the weight of the door, wind load, air pressure, seals and ditches. All these factors have their influence on the closing power. Many factors, such as closing speed, delay and acceleration can be adjusted in the AXA Deurdranger.

Advantages of an AXA Deurdranger

An AXA doordranger ensures that your doors automatically close, this has several advantages. This prevents damage to the door, the wall and the door fittings in the door. This is because the door does not swing open and touches the wall. Another advantage is that there are no more outstanding doors in your home or business premises, this makes spaces easier to stay up to temperature and this saves in the heating costs. Automatic closing doors also have the advantage that small children or your pets do not go from one room to another.

Different denominators for the same intention

If you have already read in the subject of AXA door rangers, then you already know: there are many different denominators for the same product, the same method or the same technology. In this section we would like to tell you a little more about this, so that you have clearly clear what is meant by all names.

The side where no hinges are visible is called the counter-hinge side, 'non-hinge side' or the reveal side. The terms 'frame sill mounting' and 'end mounting' are used for mounting.

Assembling an AXA doordranger

To mount an AXA doordranger there are four different possible assembly methods:

  1. Frame sill mounting on hinge side
  2. Door leaf mounting hinge side
  3. Frame sill mounting reveal side
  4. Door leaf mounting reveal side

The first method, the frame sill installation on the hinge side, is the most commonly used method for installing a closer. With this method, the closer is placed on the frame above the door. On the side of the door where the hinges are visible. The arm is attached to the door itself.

Can't the closer be placed on the frame because it is too narrow, for example? Then you can use the door leaf installation. With this method, the housing is placed on the door and only the arm needs to be mounted to the frame.

Finally, you should take the direction of your door into account. If the door opens inwards, the closer can be mounted on the hinge side of the door. If the door opens outwards, it is important that the closer is placed on the inside.

Set the AXA doordranger well for optimum convenience

It is important that the AXA Deurdranger is set well for optimum convenience. That is why we go through some important things below to set up a Dranger properly, for optimum convenience.

  • Closing speed – First consider the speed at which the door can best close. You can then adjust this steplessly. Should the door fall into the latch? Then set a final stroke. With this stroke the door falls a little stronger at the end, so that the door falls nicely into the lap.
  • Opening damping - Is it a door that is regularly thrown open forcefully, or flies open by the wind? Then set the opening damping. This ensures that the door is braked from approximately 70 degrees. After this angle, the door will open much more heavily, so the door never hits the wall.
  • Closing delay - There is also a possibility of closing delay, which stops the door between 120 and 70 degrees, making the door less likely to fall back. This is the well-known effect that allows you to walk quietly through the door after opening the door.
  • Locking device – Finally, special arms are available with a locking device. This is also called a ratchet locking arm. With this option you can easily open the door firmly, so that you can walk up and down a few times without having to open the door every time.

Fire -resistant doors, they need an AXA doordranger

Schools and hospitals, among others, are required to install fire-resistant doors. This is to ensure good fire safety in certain compartments of a room. This also applies to large office buildings, or think of a town hall.

For fire safety, there are special EN standards that prescribe when fire-resistant doors and moving parts of fire separation are mandatory.

  • What are the advantages of a pusher? They have several advantages, the main one being convenience. There are many buildings through which many people pass every day, so if the door does not close completely every time, not everyone has to open the door every time.
