Burg-wächter is a family business with a great history. It first started as a trading company, founded by Alfred Lüling around 1920 in Volmarstein. In the beginning, the company sold the exclusive sales rights of BURG, the then market leader in hinges and locks. The company continued to expand over the years to other countries and after World War II Alfred Lüling continued to sell locks.

In 1950 his 3 sons joined the company in management roles, at which time the name was changed to Burg-Wächter, a name still used today.

In 1964, the company opened a location in Valbert, and since then the company's production has increased several times. Now the company is managed by the third generation of sons, while the fourth generation is in training to learn everything.

Thanks to new technological inventions, Burg-Wächter now uses industrial production value. Even though there has been modernization, great value is still attached to the precision of all the work. This is super important to secure the extremely high quality of the safes.
