Replace cylinder lock? A cylinder lock also needs to be replaced after a long period of time. Replacing a cylinder lock is therefore sometimes unavoidable. Cylinders also become worn out after years of good service. The lock may no longer work because the mechanisms in the lock no longer move properly, or perhaps there has been an attempted burglary that has destroyed the lock.
